Preparation

Surgery
Reshaping of the cartilage through an incision hidden behind the ear. It is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation, on an outpatient basis.
Follow-up care
A support headband for the first few days, post-operative check-ups, and scar care through to the final result.
An otoplasty that looks natural
The most common mistake in ear surgery is overcorrecting: leaving the ears too close to the head, which immediately reads as operated on.
My approach is conservative. I reposition just enough so the ears stop standing out, respecting the natural folds of the cartilage. The goal is that no one knows you had surgery, only that you look good.
Who is a good candidate for otoplasty
Not everyone who wants surgery is a candidate, and not every consultation ends in surgery.
You are a good candidate if prominent ears or their shape bother you, you have realistic expectations, and your health allows surgery to be performed safely. In children, it is recommended to wait until the ear has completed its growth, around age 6 or 7.
