In this guide I explain how an operated nose evolves, why the result takes time to reveal itself, and what you should look at in a before and after before choosing who will operate on you.<\/p>\n\n

Why the result is not visible right away<\/h2>\n\n

When a nose is operated on, the work involves bone, cartilage, and soft tissue. All of that swells, and the swelling does not go down evenly or at the same pace in every area.<\/p>\n\n

The tip is the part that takes the longest, because that is where the skin is thickest and where fluid stays the longest. That is why a nose can look good in profile well before it looks defined from the front.<\/p>\n\n

That process is normal, and it is the reason no serious surgeon shows a final result at two weeks.<\/p>\n\n

How the nose changes month by month<\/h2>\n\n

This is the general sequence. Your case can move within it, and thick skin makes it slower.<\/p>\n\n

First days.<\/strong> You wear a splint, and swelling, bruising around the eyes, and congestion are to be expected. This is not the time to judge anything.<\/p>\n\n

First weeks.<\/strong> The splint comes off. A first obvious change appears, but the nose is still swollen and usually looks wider and more upturned than it will end up being.<\/p>\n\n

First months.<\/strong> The swelling subsides progressively. The dorsum defines itself before the tip does. This is the stage in which most patients begin to recognize themselves.<\/p>\n\n

After that.<\/strong> The tip finishes settling and the result refines itself little by little. In thick skin this stretch is longer, and it is worth knowing that from the consultation on, so that you do not go through it with anxiety.<\/p>\n\n

What to look at in a before and after<\/h2>\n\n

A well-made gallery is recognized by specific details:<\/p>\n\n

The same angle in both photos.<\/strong> Front with front, profile with profile. A change of angle can simulate a result that does not exist.<\/p>\n\n

The same lighting and the same background.<\/strong> Side lighting accentuates the hump in the before and erases it in the after without anyone having operated on anything.<\/p>\n\n

The same expression.<\/strong> Smiling changes the position of the nasal tip.<\/p>\n\n

The time elapsed.<\/strong> An after at three weeks is not a result, it is a stage.<\/p>\n\n

Several views of the same case.<\/strong> A single angle hides whatever is not meant to be shown.<\/p>\n\n

Many patients say that what changed their life the most was not the profile, but sleeping with their mouth closed. That part does not appear in any gallery, and it is worth keeping in mind when weighing whether the procedure is worth it in your case.<\/p>\n\n

Why I do not publish results as a promise<\/h2>\n\n

Showing a result does not mean it can be replicated. Every nose starts from a different structure, with a different skin thickness and a different capacity for healing.<\/p>\n\n

Publishing a photo alongside a promise would be a breach of professional ethics and of clinical reality. What I do instead is show you real cases, with the elapsed time stated, and explain to you in the consultation what is possible in your specific case.<\/p>\n\n

What photos will be taken of you at the consultation<\/h2>\n\n

At the consultation a clinical photographic record is taken in several views: front, profiles, three-quarter, and base. It is used to plan the surgery, to compare at follow-up visits, and so that you yourself can see your progress.<\/p>\n\n

That material is part of your medical record and is protected. It is used for publication purposes only if you authorize it in writing, and you can refuse without that affecting your care in any way.<\/p>\n\n
